Welcome to My Songwriting Journal

Hi, I’m Andrew—a songwriter, a guitarist, and someone who’s always found it easier to sing what I feel than to write it down.

I started writing songs when I was 13 or 14, not long after getting my first guitar—a beautiful classical guitar that still means a lot to me. I taught myself to play using the complete Beatles songbook, learning chord by chord, line by line. Once I had a few shapes under my fingers, I started borrowing chord progressions and adding my own lyrics.

What began as imitation slowly turned into something of my own. I built up a little bank of chords, and with them came songs—songs that said things I didn’t know how to write in a diary or say out loud. Over time, songwriting became my way of reflecting, processing, remembering.

The oldest song I can remember writing is Sing High, a simple love song I wrote for my girlfriend. It’s not flashy, but I still like it. It’s honest. No fuss. You can even find it on Spotify, if you’re curious.

This blog is where I’ll share pieces of that journey—songs I’ve written, ideas I’m working on, stories behind the lyrics, and whatever else music brings into my life. If you’re a fellow songwriter, a curious listener, or just someone who loves music that means something, you’re in the right place.

Thanks for being here. Let’s begin.
